Walton County enjoys the benefits of a countywide school district that has a low student-teacher ratio of 15:1, which gives pupils individual attention. The Walton County School Board Citizen's Advisory Committee, consisting of citizens, student council presidents and educators, meets monthly to discuss county-wide issues and make recommendations that benefit the entire school district.

Walton County Vocational-Technical School, open since 1988, offers excellent job training programs for high school students and adults. Seaside offers a unique Charter School on its premises. The school is open to the public. OkaIoosa-Walton College provides our community with higher education with a diverse range of class offerings.

Okaloosa-Walton College is an accredited, public institution that offers Bachelor and Associate degrees, short term technical and vocational certificates, adult basic education, high school equivalency and English-as-a-Second-Language instruction, continuing education, customized business training and Distance Learning. The college's annual enrollment is more than 15,500 students.

OWC students represent all ages and backgrounds. The average class size is just 20 students, ensuring personal attention from college faculty. OWC's tuition is currently the lowest in Florida, just $50.90 per credit hour in-state. Alabama residents qualify for in-state fees plus a $1 per credit hour border-state fee. High school students who meet certain requirements may take college-credit classes free of charge through Dual Enrollment. Out of State is $196.34 per credit hour.
